Here are simple ways to beat the heat before dehydration kicks in
Signs of dehydration: headaches, dizziness and fatigue.
Interesting fact: the first sign of dehydration is hunger.
Here’s 4 homemade electrolyte recipes that are nice and easy and fun to make with the kiddos!
RECIPES:
GREEN TEA SPA ELECTROLYTES
Ingredients:
4 cups of green tea (cooled)
Add cucumber wheels
1/2 lemon juice (other half make wheels)
1/3 bunch of Basil (torn up to release the natural essential oils)
*note that green tea has caffeine so this is more suited to grown ups
CITRUS CHIA SEED WATER
Ingredients:
4 cups of water
1/2 lemon juice (other half make wheels)
1/2 orange juice (other half make wheels)
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
Pinch of salt
Pinch of coconut sugar if you want it sweet
COCONUT WATER & BLUEBERRY ELECTROLYTES
Ingredients:
4 cups coconut water
1/2 cup of fresh blueberries
1/2 juice of fresh lime (other half make wheels)
Tear up some mint leaves
Pinch of salt
HIBISCUS TEA COOLER
Ingredients:
4 cups of hibiscus tea (cooled)
1/2 juice of lime
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
Pinch of salt
Optional 1 teaspoon of coconut sugar for the kiddos
