Actor Diary: SXSW
4 days of fun chaos in Austin, Texas
Righto, we just got home from SXSW and i think there will be a come down from all the fun chaos that came from this festival.
So lets start with the highlights:
we got to see the pilot I acted in and the Bosso (my fiancé Matt) composed for on the BIG SCREEN! Which was WILD, so much fun!! I play a very assertive boss named Kylie Dreet! She’s a force!
I hosted a podcast for Australia House with the American Australian Association and it was unreal, it was non-stop interviews and I learnt so much. It taught me to be adaptable and flexible. There were a few last min guest speaker changes. And this taught me how to jsut go with the flow and trust my preparation.
I got to interview people from all walks of life. From tech and AI CTOs to aerospace engineers and film directors. We covered it all!
We also went to a Lumineers concert, and now I cant stop listening to the song A.M. RADIO after a quick google search, I learnt that it’s about following a passion. I absolutely love it.
We also had some ripper BBQ; number one was Terry Blacks, followed by Stubs, then Banger’s. Pop them all on your Austin list. Apparently Franklins is also where its at, but they sell out by lunchtime every day so we never got to experience that hot spot.
We got to visit the iconic street of cowboy boots and cowboy hats, its called South Congress Avenue. I have no idea how, but we used all of our self control to not purchase more boots or hats. to be fair, i’ve collected a few from our travels so far. I tried on a really pretty chocolate brown Stetson which was a 20x and would have set me back $750 USD. Def going on the dream list.
Righto, so that’s my little dairy from SXSW Austin, Texas.
Here’s some piccys from AUSTRALIA HOUSE that just came through:
